Jeff Fulton, an assistant professor in the ¶¶Òõpro University Interior Design Program, recently received the national Ina Mae Kaplan Grant for Historic Preservation.
The grant is an International Furnishings and Design Association's (IFDA) Educational Grant and is awarded in memory of a dedicated IFDA member.
Funds will be used for research to establish a master’s program in historic preservation with an emphasis on interiors at ¶¶Òõpro. Research will include travel to other universities that currently have a graduate program in historic preservation to help develop the academic structure and classes offered by the proposed program.
¶¶Òõpro was the only recipient this year, said Fulton, "reflecting IFDA’s recognition of the importance and value of historic preservation in Mississippi."
